ALL LEVELS OF INVOLVEMENT ARE WELCOME.
What is 350 Mass?
350 Massachusetts for a Better Future (350 Mass) is a powerful statewide volunteer network. We work to confront the climate crisis, hold our politicians accountable, and undermine the destructive influence of the fossil fuel industry.
350 Mass is made up of many local chapters or “nodes” around the state. Each node chooses its own local goals, but also participates in statewide campaigns; this gives us both flexibility and power. 350 Mass is coordinated by a Statewide Steering Team, with representatives from each node.
350 Mass is also supported by the nonprofit organization Better Future Project (BFP). BFP provides 350 Mass with training, expertise, and organizing assistance. BFP also incubates and supports other climate programs, including student divestment campaigns and community resilience efforts.
Our name comes from 350 parts per million, the safe level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Although we are not formally part of the international group 350.org, they work with us and inspire us.
Connect with one of our nodes!
We have 16 nodes across the state, with more coming soon. Nodes vary from small startups to experienced groups, from urban to rural, and from large to small. But all provide a way to engage with the climate crisis at whatever level is right for you. Find the node closest to you here, and email them, or show up at a meeting—you will be warmly welcomed!
You can also join us virtually. Sign up here to let us know the ways you’d like to be involved—from getting a newsletter to coming to rallies—and we’ll loop you in.
(In case you are noticing that we don’t have a lot of nodes in the middle of the state--we have groups there that are “affiliates,” pre-existing groups that remain independent but work with us.)
Support 350 Mass and Better Future Project
Everyone can help save the climate in their own way, and even organizations that are people-powered need money! If you don’t have time or energy to be an activist, you can help the cause by supporting those who do. Better Future Project is a 501c3 non-profit, and it created and supports the volunteer network 350 Massachusetts. You can donate here to BFP or 350 Mass (by using the Program dropdown menu).
